Retention of the user’s data

The Internet provides a lot of possibilities - unfortunately also different variations of abuse are a big issue. Since more and more absuse cases came up, several legislators decided to enact a law to regulate the retention of data, such as the EU directive 2006/24/EC does in the European area.

As a full Internet provider, Loop21 takes the responsibility for the storage of Internet traffic data. Dependent on the home country of the hotspot and its specific situation of law, it is necessary to store activities that have been made through an Internet connection with a time stamp.

In the worst case, the owner of the Internet connection without such a hotspot software is fully liable for any illegal action that has taken place via their Internet connection. This covers activities such as illegal down- and uploading of films, music and other materials protected by copyright or even child pornography. Therefore, the Loop21 software is indispensable for being on the safe side in all these questions. Loop21 offers the registration via text message to authenticate the single user and thereby secure the Internet access system.

Loop21 will configure the retention adapted to the single home country of the hotspots, host the hardware to store this data and be the direct contact to executive inquiries.
