An Internet hotspot requires technology know-how. The main decision is what kind of “last mile” to the end user is chosen. This can be LAN or WLAN. Current researches have shown that more and more tablet PCs (e.g. iPads) are used to connect to a public Internet access. Therefore, it is essential to provide a solution which suits to every system and OS that may be used at the hotspot.
The Wireless LAN technology (wi-fi = wireless local network) enables each user to connect their own wireless device to the Internet. No matter if it is a laptop, notebook, smartphone, mobile phone or a wi-fi enabled portable device - as soon as wi-fi is activated, one can connect with the wi-fi hotspot, register and start surfing!
The designated coverage areas are equipped with professional hardware according to business standards. Loop21 recommends wi-fi standards IEE 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 a/n as well as the newest MIMO standards to guarantee optimum coverage. Loop21 selects the necessary devices and plans the wireless network. According to each particular field of application, outdoor or indoor access points/antennas are used. The angle of radiation is calculated and adjusted to the respective coverage area.
Loop21 is independent of producers and Wi-Fi Consulter. If necessary, our customers also call up Wi-Fi support for their projects, which we provide by our verified partner network. So also services such as the support for the decision of hardware (WLAN access points, licensed and unlicensed radio links, server hardware, etc.) as well as the distribution of the riquired hardware are available. For more information about possible Wi-Fi support click here.
A wi-fi area can be built up through one or several transmitting stations and can be connected to the Internet centrally. The number, density and size of transmitting stations depend on the size of the desired coverage area.
If the project is based on an existing wireless network, an integration plan has to be created. This means that the existing transmitting stations are connected with the Loop21 hotspot system.
Our Loop21 team will be glad to evaluate your individual requirements and to offer advice on how far existing networks can be adapted or which hybrid solutions are possible in your case.

All wi-fi transmitting stations are added to our Loop21 hotspot software and are connected directly to the Loop21 hotspot system, the central unit which takes care of the entire administration and maintenance. An encrypted connection via the Internet makes a central user management, data retention, remote maintanance, and unlocking of Loop21 transmitting stations possible.
