A large retail chain has equipped its markets in Austria with cable and wireless Internet. The assembly, control and administration takes place via the Network Operation Center of LOOP21.
The project can also be seen as the result of a mobility initiative: because the salespeople at every branch are now equipped with tablets or portable devices, reliable Wi-Fi networks were required. The Wi-Fi network is intended to support employees with ordering and inventory management – thanks to roaming, even when they are on the move. The multi-channel sales approach is also to be supported. Videos and catalogs can now be shown to customers in the branches.
LOOP21 installed the gateways and modems and tested the installation in all markets in Austria.
The customer dials into the Wi-Fi and is forwarded to the login page, which is a one-click page. However, this can be replaced by another login variant at any time. The maximum session duration has been regulated to 1 hour, after which the guest is returned to the landing page.
