With over 4 million visitors every year, Europa-Park is the largest theme park in Germany, Europe. In the age of new media, Europa-Park decided to entertain its guests with Loop21 Parktainment ™. The first step involved installing a Loop21 hotspot with the LBS (Location-based Service) module “Parktainment ™” at 5 locations: Entrance, Silver Star & blue fire roller coaster, Fairytale Forest and FoodLoop Restaurant.
The goal is to provide the guests in Europa-Park with location-specific information with WI-FI. Through the Loop21 Parktainment ™ software package, guests can connect to the Wi-Fi and get a landing page. This landing page is different for each location. If the guest is on Silver Star, they can post on Silver Star’s Facebook page or watch a video of that ride on Youtube while they are in the queue. In front of the train blue fire, however, the user gets information about this attraction. He can check in places on Facebook or view the park map on blue fire. Europa-Park also uses the Internet login of Loop21. With Loop21 as the operator, the park is completely secured against legal concerns. During the installation of the Loop21 hotspot system into the Wi-Fi network, the details about the interconnection with the Loop21 Network Operations Team were discussed. Thanks to the Loop21 software, modern hardware, suitable configurations and technical know-how, the Parktainment ™ was launched before the start of the 2011 season.
