Be it Skype with the grandchildren, reading the newspaper or simply surfing the Internet – the provision of WLAN definitely offers added value.

Together with an internet provider, LOOP21 set up internet access for patients in 50 nursing homes in Austria.

Via the infrastructure of the internet provider, which every care facility already had in-house using fiber optics, LOOP21 set up a hotspot system with only one gateway each. Because the LOOP21 technology package is largely hardware-independent, it can be easily integrated into existing WLAN architectures.

It was important to have a login page with clear branding for the respective care facility. When choosing the login module, the choice fell on a one-click login without authentication. Of course, we also offer other login options such as SMS login, email verification or a ticket system.

The use is possible for all WLAN-enabled devices, of course with user-based bandwidth limitation. LOOP21 takes over the monitoring of the hotspot solution.

The system can be expanded in a modular fashion at any time. Especially with regard to IoT and the use of medical technology devices, an extension with its own access for the facility itself makes sense if an existing WLAN network is not used.

In addition to the standard functions, LOOP21 offers a variety of extensions that offer completely new possibilities. With the location-based service system, content and information can be displayed via an upstream start page, depending on location and time. The Customer Survey Module is an anonymous customer survey that is quick and easy to use. A digital newspaper kiosk is also possible – with a selection of national and international newspapers and magazines.
